Building Our Chicken Coop

The last few days Travis has been building a coop for our chickens. When the kids come home after school they run straight to the backyard to help Travis build. Travis wanted a nice strong coop that will last for a long time. He did just that! He made a coop that could hold a large animal. Every cut and beam was cut perfectly and evenly spaced. We got most of the coop built and soon will have it finished. I can't wait to see the finished coop. Our chickens are going to be  very happy!

Building the Chicken Coop Day One

Yesterday was such a beautiful day! Travis and Bryson spent most the day building the base walls to our chicken coop. i finally got the back and front lawn mowed and edged. I also started trying to remove all the weeds that are creating a jungle at the side of our house. While Bryson was helping his dad yesterday he told me to look at him. I looked over and saw that he had made a heart with his had for me. He then told me that I was beautiful and that he loved me. I love how he takes time out of his busy little day to make his mom happy.

Art by Maddy

Madison made this for her friend Kami Wilson. She got the poster board and crayons from The Dollar Tree. She hot glued the crayons to the top of the poster and then used a hairdryer to melt the crayons and make the colors run down the board. I found a silhouette of a girls hold an umbrella and printed it out. We glued the girl on the board under all the colors to finish. I love how it turned out!!

Talented and Loving Dad

Travis went to Lowes and bought lumber for the chicken coop he's going to build. While he was there he also bought wood to make the boys swords and shields. When we he got home, he didn't even unload the truck, he went straight to making the boys their swords. The Eisenbrandt's came over for dinner today and Travis felt bad that Chase didn't have a sword or a shield like our boys did so he made Chase one as well. The boys were so happy to have a sword and shield made by Travis.

Lego's

I still find Lego's in random places all over my house. They are everywhere! I'm not a big fan of  Lego's right now, but I know that when my kids are older I'm going to miss finding Lego's in my laundry, dishwasher, fridge, and other places. I need to try to cherish and enjoy ever little moment with my kids, because they are growing fast!

Hail Storm

I was in my kitchen doing dishes when I heard something outside I opened the door to see and it was hailing. It wasn't a little bit of hail, it was coming down hard. The hail balls were pretty big too. I sat on my front porch and watched the storm for a while. I only lasted about 15 min and then the sun came out. The weather in Oregon is kinda bipolar.

Our Chickens

Our chicks are three weeks old and they are growing fast! Many of them are getting their adult feather and losing their soft fuzz.

Happy Birthday Charlie

Yesterday we celebrated the Day Charlie Brown found our family a year ago April 13 2012.
Charlie Brown is a loving long haired Chihuahua with a cute personality. Charlie is very smart! He loves to play fetch, chase our bunny, and play with the kids. His favorite person is Travis! When Travis leaves the house, Charlie will watch out the window and wait for him to return. Charlie Brown is a very well behaved and obedient puppy. We love him and are so happy he's a part of our family!

The Most Beautiful Flowers!

As I pulled in to pick the kids up after school, I saw them on the corner with what looked like flowers in their hands. They entered the car and told me that they had made me some flowers. They told me that took pine cone like things that fell off a nearby tree and put a stick in the hole at the bottom of the pin cones to me me flowers. I thought it was very creative and thoughtful. The flowers they made me are the most beautiful flowers I have ever received! I want to want my Ethan. Madison and Bryson for the thought flowers. I love my kids!

Charlie Brown's Eye

I took Charlie Brown into the vet yesterday for another follow up exam. We were told that some blood vessels in Charlies eye were starting to form, but his eye is still not healing like it should. Charlie has a big scratch on the center of his eye that his been causing him a lot of problems. He has been to the vet three different times and they are still trying to get it to heal. Yesterday the took some of Charlie's blood and made a plasma eye drop with it. They also gave me an ointment to put in his eye every four hours. They are hoping this will heal the ulcer he has in his eye. If it doesn't heal then he will have to have a surgical procedure done where they will poke little holes into Charlies eye to get it to heal. This will also be Charlie's second week wearing the cone of shame. I really hope his eye will heal and that he won't need the surgery.

My Little Hero

Tonight I made the kids hotdogs for dinner. After getting the kids their food I left to use the restroom. I wasn't in there long when I heard Allison yelling my name. I answered her but she kept yelling at me over and over. I then heard her say Madison is choking. I ran into the kitchen as fast as I could only to find both my girls in tears. Madison was choking on a hotdog and Allison gave her the Heimlich Maneuver and saved her sisters life. She was really scared and shaken up, but I'm so glad that Allison knew what to do to help her little sister. I'm so very thankful that Allison knew what to do in a scary situation. Love you Allison!
