Our First Egg

This morning our Golden Sex Link Willy laid her first egg. I knew it was going to happen today and was very excited when it finally happened. Willy was exactly 23 weeks old when she laid her first egg. Next Wednesday all my chickens will be six months old. Hopefully they will all start laying eggs soon.

Willy Getting Ready

Today I noticed that Willy was acting more different than she normally acts. She was squawking really loud, hiding behind the shed door away from the other chickens, and trying to find a place to nest. I knew she was ready to lay her first egg. I cleaned the chicken coop and put fresh straw in the nesting boxes so the when she was ready, she would have a comfy clean place to lay her eggs. I'm not letting them free rage tomorrow because when she does decide to lay an egg I want it to be in the nesting box and not hidden in my yard. I'm so excited!! I know she's ready. If Willy doesn't lay an egg today, I know she will tomorrow.

Madison Loves to Recycle

Madison has been collecting cans and today she went and cashed them in at Safeway. She made $3.00 recycling soda cans. Now she is trying to collect more cans and bottles to recycle.

Bryson's Mustard Seed

Bryson had a lesson of faith in his primary class and his teacher gave him a mustard seed. Bryson was so excited to plant his little mustard seed. Today his little seed sprouted. Bryson was so happy to see that his seed is starting to grow.

Ethan's First Time at the Temple

Ethan went to the temple for his first time last night. Lexie said that when he entered the fount to do baptisms for the dead, everyone there took a deep breath. Ethan is so little that when he took his last step in the font the water went up to his chin. The brother baptizing didn't have a hard time getting Ethan under the water. It's so neat to see my kids going to the temple and doing those things that our pleasing to their Heavenly father.

Pear Picking

Tonight was our Youth pear picking night. I thought it would be fun to go and get some hours of service done at the pear farm. I bought Lexie, Ethan and Madison with me to pick pears. This was Madison's first time picking pears and she did pretty good. We were only there for two hours, but we had a good time.

Our 17th Wedding Anniversary!

Travis scheduled a fun zip line trip to celebrate our 17 years together. He wanted the to do something we had never done together as a couple. He wanted it to be a surprise and for some reason, he got me thinking we were going sky diving. I was so nervous about jumping out of a plane, but was willing to do it if Travis was willing. When we arrived at our destination he told me that we weren't going sky diving but on a zip line adventure. I was very relieved that we weren't jumping out of a plane. We zipped down five different lines and each line became longer and faster. On Our Last run before Travis came down I heard the guy say over the speaker "17 years of marriage and still zippin'." I thought it was sweet that Travis had the guide say that over the speaker on our last run. I had a great time zipping through the trees with the love of my life. After our zip line adventure we went and had a very yummy dinner at Texas Roadhouse with our friends the Kings. The service was great and the food was amazing! I'm so very blessed to have Travis as my eternal companion. He is my happy thought, the smile on my face, the skip in my step, my heart, my everything. He is my other half, I wouldn't be complete without him!
