Sick Kids

I  have had sick kids for the past week and the rest of our family is slowly getting the sick bug. I was up all night with Bryson last night who has a really nasty cough and fever. I'm so tired, it's so hard being a mom with sick kids.

Last night I looked over and saw Allison wearing this mask. I thought it was pretty funny! She told me that she didn't want to get sick. I don't think wearing a mask around the house is going to keep her from getting sick. Who knows maybe she will get lucky and not catch this nasty bug.

Chocolate Chip Oreo Cookie Sandwich

 I made these cookies today and they turned out so good. Yummy!!

2 sticks softened butter
3/4 Cup packed light brown sugar
1 Cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1 Tablespoon pure vanilla
3 1/2 Cups all purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
10 oz bag chocolate chips
1 bag Oreo Cookies, I used the double stuff 
1.  Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.   In a stand or electric mixer cream butter and sugars until well combined.  Add in eggs and vanilla until well combined.
2.  In a separate bowl mix the flour, salt and baking soda.  Slowly add to wet ingredients along with chocolate chips until just combined.  Using a cookie scoop take one scoop of cookie dough and place on top of an Oreo Cookie.  Take another scoop of dough and place on bottom of Oreo Cookie.  Seal edges together by pressing and cupping in hand until Oreo Cookie is enclosed with dough.  Place onto a parchment or silpat lined baking sheet and bake cookies 9-13 minutes or until cookies are baked to your liking.  Let cool for 5 minutes before transferring to cooling rack.  Serve with a tall glass of milk, enjoy!
Makes about 2 dozen VERY LARGE Cookies

The Eisenbrandt and the King family came over for dinner tonight. We had a fun time visiting with everyone and the kids had a lot of fun together. We really miss the Eisenbrants and are very glad they came to visit!

 I walked out into my backyard last night to pick Travis up from work and saw this beautiful sunset. I love it!

Our New Year started off great! On Sunday we were able to go to my parents ward and the old Centerville ward. Travis and I went to the Centerville ward when we were younger and we have a lot of great memories in that ward. My goals for 2011 are to be more positive, be a better mother and wife, not to yell at me kids or crazy drivers on the road, attend the temple once a month, and be a better example to those around me. I have a lot more goals I need to work on and I hope to meet some of  them by the end of the year.

Happy New Year !!

 It was so nice to be able to celebrate the New Year with family!

I also won a pizza party while I was here and was able to get 4 pizzas of my choice with bread sticks and two leaders of soda. It was so yummy! Carrie was so excited she played a little song for us with the spatula. :)
