Tuesday morning when Travis left the house the dogs raced to jump on the couch and watch him leave out the window. As Chewie jumped on the couch, he landed on his arm wrong and started yelping really loud. I knew that he had done something to his leg. I took him to my vet and she told me that he broke his elbow and would have to have surgery. She referred met o a surgeon in Grants Pass who was retired and only charge me $1200 for the surgery. I didn't want to go to grants Pass so I asked if there was anyone in the Valley who could do it for cheaper. She said there was someone in Medford but he would charge $5000. I told her I was going to go home and talk to Travis before doing anything. She splinted his leg and charged me $275 for the visit. I talked to tom Gullock who works for us about Chewie and he told me to go to a place called All Creatures in Ashland and he would do the surgery for under $300. I drove to All Creatures first thing the next morning and they took me right in and to some x rays of his leg. He told me that his elbow was broken and they needed to operate and put a rod in his elbow to hold it together. Chewie had the surgery and they kept him over night. When I went to pick him up they only charged me $260 for the xrays, medication, overnight stay, surgery, and splint. I couldn't believe how cheap it was for all that they had done. I will never go anywhere else for my animals again. All Creatures took great care of Chewie and they didn't charge us a arm and a leg to take care of him.
