Free Fishing Weekend

We took the family out fishing for free fishing weekend and it was a perfect day for fishing! All the kids caught a fish yesterday. Bryson's Mickey Mouse pole was like magic, it caught the most fish. Bryson was the first one to catch a fish, Ethan was the second then it was Lexie, Allison and Madison was the last to catch a fish. Lexie caught 5, Allison caught 2, Ethan caught 1, Madison caught a large mouth bass, and Bryson caught 4. We all had a great time fishing together!!

Allison's 6th Grade Graduation

I can't believe Allison will be in middle school this fall. She has grow so much this year and I know she will do well next year in middle school. Allison, your Dad and I are very proud of you and we both love you so much!

Our Broken Benji

I let Charlie out in the backyard to run around and use the bathroom and a few minutes later he comes limping into the house. I have no idea what happened and being that he seemed to be in a lot of pain I took him straight to the Vet. The vet told me that he had fractured his fibula and would have to wear a cast for a few weeks. Charlie didn't know what he would do with his new cast. He was the saddest, and most pathetic dog I had even seen.  It took him four day of laying in his crate before he even tried to walk.

Broken Leg

Yesterday I let Charlie Brown out in the backyard with Bryson for a few minutes and he came in limping. I took him into the vet and they said he broke his fibula. He had to get a cast put on his whole leg. Charlie Brown has not moved since he got his cast on, he has to wear it for eight weeks. He has even been going to the bathroom on himself. I hope that he gets feeling better soon and he gets use to wearing his cast. Poor puppy!

Power of Prayer

Ethan bought a prank book at his school book fair, this fake ice cube with a spider inside was included in the book. Ethan was able to fool many of the kids by putting it in our ice machine. It went from glass to glass and eventually ended up stuck in my my garbage disposal. My garbage disposal has been down for a few days because of this ice cube prank. At first I thought it was a domino from one of Bryson's domino sets. Travis just thought it was a part of the disposal, but I knew it wasn't. This morning I decided that if I wanted my disposal fixed I was going to have to do it myself. I got a flash light and saw where the ice prank was blocking the blade. It was wedged in there really good! I got some pliers and struggled to get it out for what seemed like forever. It wasn't budging and I was very frustrated. I decided to calm down and ask my Heavenly Father for some help. I said a prayer knowing that if I asked for help Heavenly Father would help me. After my prayer I went to my junk drawer and found a better set of pliers and started working again to get my disposal fixed. After a few minutes I was able to get the ice prank out of my disposal. I now have a working disposal! I believe in the power of prayer. I know that Heavenly Father is mindful of what I need, no matter how big or small it may be. I know that he loves us and that he is always there to help us when we need it, we just need to ask.

Allison's Jane Addams Bioriddle

I was born on September 6, 1860 in Cedarville, Illinois, with the sky so beautiful all full of the color turquoise.

I strongly believed in the need of research into the poverty and crime, I worked very hard to earn money but all I ever got was a dime.

My mother, Sara, died when I was just two years old, it was sad seeing her in her coffin all skinny and cold.

I was then raised by my stepmother who had two children of her own, by that time my clothes were always to be sewn.

I graduated from the Rockford Female Seminary in 1881 and won a bachelors degree, the next year after it became the Rockford College I got a very good salary.

During the summer of 1881 my father became ill and died, he was a very nice man and had never lied.

After he died I felt much torment, that time was the saddest moment.

I was the first American woman to win the Nobel Peace Prize in 1931, I shared it with an educator Nicholas Murray Butler who also deserved one.

I visited and helped people at the Hull-House up to my death in 1935, I loved the children so much they made me feel so alive.

If your not sure who I am just try and guess, if you need a hint just look at my dress.

Who am I?

Yes, I am Jane Addams and my famous quote is:

"America's future will be determined by the home and the school.  The child becomes largely what he is taught, hence we must watch what we teach, and how we live."
