This morning Lexie stepped on a snow globe and cut her heel pretty bad. I took her to Valley Immediate Care and they gave her some medicine to make her sleeping before they cleaned it up. The medicine made her sleepy but it didn't help with the pain. The doctor had to give her several shots to numb the are and before doing it he told Lexie that it was going to be very painful. He told her she could cry and scream all she wanted, but not to move her foot. The skin on the heel is the thickest and toughest skin on the body and the doctor was having a hard time getting through the skin to stitch her up. Lexie ended up getting eight stitches in her heel. The doctor was a little worried about the cut because it was such a big chunk of skin. He told me that he wanted Lexie to stay off her foot and to keep it elevated until Monday. He said that if her skin doesn't reattach she will have to have a skin graph done. I'm praying that it will all heal and she won't have any problems.
