Lexie's Girl Club Fun

Here's a picture of how the tie-dyed shirts turned out. Starting from the right is Tayler Wilhoits, Lexie, Sarah Neilsons and Emily (Lexie's friend from school.) I think they all look great!

Jaqeline didn't show up until later yesterday so she missed the tie-dye project. Lexie felt bad, so we went to the store today to buy more dye. Then Lexie and Jaqeline tie-dyed shirts, hats, and socks together and they had lots of fun.

Lexie had a girls club party last night and they had so much fun. Lexie and her friends tie dyed shirts and their hands. Travis told the girls stories while sitting around the camp fire roasting hot dogs and marshmallows.

This is a picture of the girls this morning. They spent the whole night outside in tents that they put up all on their own.

Moderate Scoliosis

Lexie went to the doctor the other day for a physical. The doctor checked her spine and told me he thinks she has Scoliosis and wanted her to get a back X-ray. Today I got a call for the doctor saying that she has Moderate Scoliosis. He wants Lexie to come in and get another X-ray in six months. If her spine worsens then he's going to send her to a specialist and she might be put in a back brace.

When the body is viewed from behind, a normal spine appears straight. (Fig. la) However, when a spine with scoliosis is viewed from behind, a lateral or side-to-side curvature may be apparent. This gives the appearance of leaning to one side and should not be confused with poor posture. Mild Scoliosis (less than 20 degrees). Mild scoliosis is not serious and requires no treatment other than monitoring.
Moderate Scoliosis (between 25 and 70 degrees). It is still not clear whether untreated moderate scoliosis causes significant health problems later on. Some studies have found no difference in either back pain or survival rates in adult untreated patients versus the general population. In one study, adults with moderate scoliosis had normal lung function, although they had difficulty exercising.
Lexie has had back pain and I had no idea she had Scoliosis. I hope Lexie's spine will not worsen and that she will be able to enjoy sports and have no future problems.

Dog's Are A Man's Best Friend!

Travis is not going to be happy seeing this picture on my blog, but I love it and wanted it to be in my blog book. This morning I walked in the family room and found Travis sleeping on the couch with our dog Benji. Travis loves Benji. I have never seen him so attached to a animal before. Benji is always licking Travis' face and he loves to chew on Travis' earlobes. I think it's so cute seeing Travis and Benji together, but sometimes I get a little jealous of the attention Travis gives our dog.

Who Invented This Stuff?

Bryson has done it again! I don't know why he's so fascinated with Styrofoam. I hate Styrofoam! Who was the person who invented this nasty stuff? It's not only bad for the environment (not that I'm an environmentalist) but it makes a huge mess that's very hard to clean up! When I catch Bryson with the Styrofoam, he starts breaking it into pieces even faster before I can stop him. What makes it hard is that I can't clean it because Robby has my vacuum. I need to have all this Styrofoam locked up so my little trouble maker can't get into it ever again.

Lexie's Field Trip

Travis went on a field trip with Lexie to the fish hatchery today. This will be one of Lexie's last field trip in elementary. I'm glad that Travis was able to go with her today. They had a good time together!
This is Lexie's sixth grade teacher Mrs. Rose and Lexie loves having her for a teacher. Mrs. Rose is also in are ward at church.

I Love My Green Machine!

I'm so happy! I just bought a Little Green carpet cleaner with my birthday money. (Thanks Lee and Dixie!) I love this spot cleaner!! I have an upright carpet cleaner, but I always seems to be on my hands and knees scrubbing spots my carpet cleaner couldn't get. This cleaner is light weight and It scrubs away spills and stains fast without a lot of work. This little Green machine is a life safer.

Happy Mothers Day!

Touch A Truck

We took the kids to Touch A Truck at The Jackson County Fairgrounds. They all got their faces painted, made noodle necklaces, and had fun honking the horn in the big trucks. Rock climbing was the activity my kids liked the most. They even got to climb all three sides of the rock wall. My kids are monkeys especially Ethan, but he could only handle going so high. I think he's a little afraid of heights like his dad.

They all were able to go inside and touch big diesel trucks, helicopters, tractors, and an ambulance.

Bryson had lots of fun spraying the fire hose. The fire helmet was so heavy, the nice Fireman had to help Bryson hold his head while he played with the fire hose.

My kids got to ride in barrels behind a tractor. Lexie was so happy that they let her ride!

Here they are having fun on the tractors. Our kids had so great time and I really enjoyed being outside in the sunshine!

Our Potty Party

I made this big boy pants cake for Bryson's Potty Party.

Bryson waiting for his party to start.

We decorated by hanging some of Bryson's underpants from a clothes line.

We sang the Pee Pee In The Potty song and then Bryson blew out his candles.

Bryson opened presents and got a bunch of new underpants. He loved his underpants and wanted to try them all on.

My Lexie's going to Middle School!

Lexie will be going into the seventh grade this year and she is so excited. We went and had a tour of Hedrick Middle School yesterday and Lexie couldn't stop smiling.

When we entered Hedrick we were greeted by the school band. We signed in and Lexie was very surprised to find her name on the wall welcoming the seventh graders to Hedrick.

We took the school tour with Lexie's good friends Jacqueline and Hannah. They saw the seventh grade hallway, cafeteria, gym, library, computer, and chorus rooms. The girls are very excited to start school at Hedrick and to have their own lockers. I can't believe that my little Lexie is not so little anymore and will be in middle school. It seems only yesterday, I was preparing her for kindergarten. Lexie will love middle school and I know she'll do great!!

Potty Party

We are going to have a potty party for Bryson. He is officially potty trained and we want to celebrate. We started potty training on Monday the 4th of May and he has not had any accidents since the 5th. Now that he is potty trained and he's our last child I can now say that we are done with diapers!! He was a very easy child to potty train. Every time Bryson would go potty in the toilet, we sang the potty song. "Pee pee in the potty. Pee pee in the potty" while doing a potty dance. Then I would say "Yeah Bryson!" and then Bryson would say "Yeah Mom!" We were a great team.

He's A Big Kid Now!

I started potty training Bryson today. Bryson's little friend Cameron was over here last night and he's getting potty trained, so I thought I should get potty training Bryson. This morning I told Bryson that he needs to go potty in the toilet like a big boy. I brought out his little potty and he sat on it while watching Dora. I cleaned the house for a little bit while he sat and watched his show. Soon (after a while of sitting on his seat) Bryson turned to me all excited and said " Mom, I did it!" he went number one for the first time in the toilet. He has had only one accident today and he even went number two in the toilet all by himself. I'm so proud of him! I hope that he continues to do well.

Wolverine

We had so much fun with the Kings last night. They came over for dessert and games. We played Sequence and weren't playing that long when we randomly decided to stop the game and go see a movie. Lexie watched all the kids while we went to see Wolverine. It was opening night and everyone wanted to see this show. I didn't care to see the movie but I was out with my friends so I was happy! Wolverine ended up being pretty good and I really had a good time with Jeremy and Lissa.

I Have Super Helpers!

I want to thank everyone for the advise and comments given on my last post. I thought about it and decided to get my kids chore aprons that they can decorate and wear while they do their chores. They were all excited when I told them that they could decorate their own apron. After they finished decorating, they were more than happy to do their chores. Who would have thought that a simple chore apron would get them excited to clean. I should have thought of doing this a long time ago. She did decorate an apron and it turned out very cute! I want to thank my kids for helping me clean today. You guys did a great job!

Housekeeping!

I feel like this little cartoon. I'm always cleaning! The really sad part is that I don't even get to enjoy my clean house after I have cleaned it. After I'm done cleaning a room I turn my back and it's a mess again, like I never cleaned it. I have become a slave to my house! Does anyone have any good tips on keeping your house clean? I don't want to spend my whole life being a slave to my house. I know that I shouldn't worry so much about house work and should spend more time with my kids, but I have a very hard time relaxing when I have a messy house. I need HELP!!

Swine Flu

The Swine flu is going around and many people have died because of the sickness. The Swine flu symptoms include high fever, body aches, headaches, coughing, sore throat, diarrhea, vomiting, fatigue and chills. The disease is transmitted directly between people, and not through animals, making it highly contagious. A single cough of an infected person can transmit the sickness to an entire room full of people. Bryson has been sick with all these symptoms and now Travis and I are sick. We have not been throwing up like Bryson has but we have had all the other symptoms. That's so scary! We think that it's just a regular flu and not the Swine flu.

Please keep us in your prayers. Hopefully we will all feel better soon!

I'm 32 (Man I'm Old!)

My kids got together and made me this big card for my birthday. I thought it was very creative and it made me very happy to see that they worked so hard to make me such a nice card. I'm so blessed to have such a wonderful family! Travis took me to the Family Fun Center to play mini golf for my birthday. Then he beat me by four points and I thought I was doing pretty good. No matter how hard I try I can never beat Travis in mini golf. After golf we went and had lunch at Dairy Queen. Then Lexie and Travis took off to prepare for my surprise party. They got all kinds of Hawaiian decor. When they were finished shopping Travis took me on a long drive around Medford and then back home where I got a big Hawaiian surprise from family and friends. I was a little sad to not see Tim , Anja, Carrie, Aaron and Lissa in the crowed because they are always at our parties, but it was a nice surprise! Lexie and Travis worked very hard to put this all together for me and I just want to thank them and all who came for making this day so special.

What made the party even better was that Jeremy made his famous Pina Coladas. How did he know I was craving his Pina Coladas? We went to Kauai with the Kings last year (we left on the day after my birthday) and he made Pina Coladas for us all the time. I have been craving his yummy drink since then. Thanks Jeremy for providing the music and for the very yummy drinks!
