Charity's Reception

Last month Lexie got to be a sever at Charity's (a favorite primary teachers of hers) wedding reception. She was so excited to go and help out with her friends. Lexie and Jacqueline made a very creative book to give to Charity as a wedding gift. I want to thank Trina for taking these pictures, they turned out so cute!!

Sleepy Heads

I was looking at the Dryg's blog and saw all the funny pictures of their kids sleeping in strange places so I thought I would post a few pictures of my kids sleeping. This is Lexie sleeping while kinda standing in our Layton home.

Here she is under her bed.

We went on a hike with the Eisenbrandts not to long after moving to Medford and Ethan slept through the whole hike.

Here he is sleeping with someones feet in his face.

He fell asleep while playing his Game Cube.

Sleeping in time out.

Allison I guess wasn't having enough fun and fell asleep while boating.

Ethan and Madison sleeping together on the couch.

Ethan sleeping on our kitchen table while holding the phone.

Here he is sleeping in his car seat with a Ring pop in his mouth.

Here are two pictures of Allison sleeping at the kitchen table.

Allison standing and sleeping.

Allison with her head stuck in the couch.

Wearing her Dad's glasses.

Wearing her Dad's socks and sleeping with Miah and Zoey.

This is Madison sleeping on our couch in a plastic bag while holding Star Wars figures.

She's almost falling off the couch in this picture.

Travis was always so good at helping me out when I needed a break. Travis use to put Bryson in this backpack and carry him around while he worked. You can't see Bryson's face in this picture but he fell asleep while Travis was talking on his phone.

Bryson sleeping on Madisons Legs with lipstick all over his face.

All Dressed Up

I was having a hard time getting things done this morning because Bryson wanted my full attention. Lexie is always good at helping me out with Bryson when I need her to. After I was finished cleaning my bathroom, Bryson walked in my room all dressed like a little lady. Lexie had taken him upstairs and dress her little brother in dress up clothes. Poor little guy! He wanted to get out of his dress but I just had to takes some pictures first. What a little cutie!!

Oh The Places Kids Sleep

One of Travis' favorite toys growing up were Lego's. He has all his Lego's from when he was a child and has been adding to his collection by bidding for Lego's on eBay. When Travis gets his Lego packages in the mail, he and the kids will spend hours play with the new and old Lego's. Last night he got some new Lego's and he and the kids were having so much fun with them. Soon it got late and Travis noticed Ethan wasn't with him. Travis searched and searched for Ethan and couldn't find him. He went back in the family room and heard Ethan sigh. He found Ethan sleeping all curled up in the Lego container with the lid shut. What a funny boy! I can't believe all the weird and uncomfortable places my kids will sleep. I have pictures of my kids standing, sitting in time out, or in a strange position all while sleeping. Have you ever found your kids sleeping in a strange place or position?

A Tiggerific Surprise!

Tom sent me a package today and it was a Winnie The Pooh Mug. I just wanted to thank him for going out of his way to replace my broken mug!! That was a very thoughtful thing to do and I just want you to know how much I love and appreciate you. Every time I have hot chocolate I will think of you and your kindness. Thanks!!

Fun With Sisters

While I was gone the other day running errands, Lexie and Allison were at home putting little ponies in Bryson's hair. It made me think of what I did when I was little. My sisters and I would dress our brother Aaron up like a girl. We would curl Aaron's hair and even put him in a dress. I know that some people might be thinking that we were mean sisters, but he was the only boy in a house full of girls and we didn't want to leave him out. Bryson's sisters do the same thing to him. They paint his fingernails and play dress up with him. Bryson loves playing with baby dolls and he loves that his sisters will play with him and include him in all their fun.

Going Private

I love blogging! I love that I can document memorable family events and publish those memories in a book. And because I have a lot of personal information in my blog, Travis thought it would be smart to go private. I don’t have a problem with most people I know being able to read my blog, so leave me a comment with your email address if you would like to be added to the accepted list of readers! I just don’t want any anonymous person perusing what I have to say. I'll be going private at the end of February.

Here Comes The Sun

Well, my wish came true! I was running errands today and it was cold and foggy and then as I pull up in my driveway I notice that the sun is out and there is not a cloud in the sky. I'm so happy!

Living In The Clouds

It has been nothing but foggy for the past four days straight. I have talked to a few people and some think the fog is fun, but I would have to disagree. I have a hard time seeing the roads in front of me when I leave the house, and the closer I get to Foothill the less visibility I have. I feel really bad for my Aunt Debi and uncle Jim who live very high up on the hill. Now that I think about it, they might be the lucky ones who live above all this fog. I want the sun to come out so bad! All this fog is putting me under the weather. This is a picture of a tree in my front yard with thick pieces of fog moving through it. It is like this all day long, it doesn't clear up at all. I do not like living in the clouds!

Mended Memory

Travis made me so happy tonight! A few posts ago, I talked about how sad I was that my favorite mug broke. I also talked about how upset Travis was that he couldn't save my favorite mug from breaking. He felt so bad! Travis went and searched the Internet trying to find a mug that looked like the one that broke, and he purchased it and surprised me with it tonight. I'm so happy to have my mug back! Now I can enjoy hot chocolate again. Thanks Travis, your the Best!!

My New Curtains

Today I went to several different stores looking for curtains. I have had the red flower curtains since I moved in. I really like the red curtains but I have been wanting to change them for a while now just to get a different look and today I finally did. I was talking to my mom while I was at Walmart and she helped me pick them out. At first when I got home I wasn't sure if I liked them but after getting them all up I found that I love them!! They match everything in my kitchen and my front entry way so well. Now I just need to take them down and iron them. Thanks mom for your help!

Happy Day!

Today was a very fun day. Lexie had her friend over this weekend and they worked very hard at choreographing a dance. They even included Ethan in their dance and they all did a great job. Lexie and Jacqueline are very creative girls and I think it's so cute to see them make up dances and stories. I'm glad that Lexie has a friend like Jacqueline, she's a very cute girl. I told Travis last night that I wanted a sectional, and he told me that we had to sell our sofa set first. Travis made an ad on Craigslist late last night and this morning we sold it to the first person who called us. After they came and picked our old sofa's up, we had so much empty space in our family room. The kids had such a fun time running around in the room and getting horseback rides from Travis. I love Craigslist!! I just want to thank Travis for dealing with me and my indecisiveness. This is my third new sofa set since we moved into this house and Travis is always willing to get me a new sofa set when I need a change. Now I have this comfortable sectional that I love!

Shattered Memory

I'm very very sad Tonight! My favorite mug that my Aunt Nena gave me thirteen years ago is now in pieces. In a way I think I Jinxed myself by posting a couple months ago about how much I loved my mug and how surprised I was to still have it. I have this shelf in my kitchen where I keep all the mugs and it just so happens to be the top. Last night the kids were drinking hot chocolate and they know that they are not allowed to drink out of my favorite mug, so I think they moved it aside while getting theirs and put it a little too close to the edge of the shelf. So Tonight when Travis opened the cupboard door My favorite mug fell from the top shelf and shattered into pieces. I'm not one to cry easy but I couldn't help it. I was so sad! That mug helped me to remember my Aunt Nena and all the good times we had together and now it's gone. Travis felt so bad, he told me that when he opened the door he saw it falling and it seemed like everything was in slow motion. He knew how much it meant to me and he just felt sick that he couldn't save it from hitting the granite counter top. I will miss that mug! I know it might sound a little funny, but that mug made my hot chocolate taste better. Hot chocolate will not be the same without it.

Ethan's Book

Yesterday I was very upset with Ethan. I have asked him for week to clean his room and he never listened to me. I couldn't take the mess anymore so I ended up cleaning it and was not very happy. I cleaned out his dresser, his three closets and under his bed. It took me a whole day to get it clean. Anyway, while I was cleaning I found this little book that Ethan had made at home. I see these little books laying around my house all the time and they are always about Ethan's Dad. I thought this one was really cute so I wanted to share it with you.

This is Ethan's Title Page

My Dad by Ethan Skabelund

I will translate Ethan's writing for you. My Dad is very loved and I will do anything for him. He plays video games with me and he takes me to get Slurpee's and he is my Hero. He drew a picture of his hero AKA Dad flying over head and himself standing in his front yard.

I like to play on TV's so when I'm going to do nothing when I'm done I will go back to playing my video games.

I teach CTR 8 and this year I became Ethan's new primary teacher. Last Sunday I had my class draw a picture of them choosing the right. Ethan drew a picture of himself doing the laundry. He has done the laundry before and used a whole bottle of laundry detergent and it was a big bubbly mess. I thought it was sweet that Ethan attempted to clean his own clothes to help me out with the house work. This is a very detailed drawing. I love how he drew green stench coming up from the dirty shoe that he's holding in his had and he still has a smile on his face. That's my Ethan always smiling and happy!

Yummy!

Would you like some chocolate?

Travis (Mr. Sweet Tooth) was giving the kids treats that he had bought the other night. I thought he was handing out chewy Sprees and Nerd Ropes. Minutes later I heard the kids screaming at me to clean up Bryson's huge mess. I went in thinking that the mess couldn't be that bad and found Bryson covered in chocolate and smiling from ear to ear. How on earth do kids make such big messes? Do not leave your two year old unattended with a whole bar of chocolate or you'll be sorry!!
